Daily Update on Coronavirus (Covid-19)
17th March 2020
Dear Parents /Carers
COVID 19 update
The government advice for dealing with the corona virus was updated late yesterday and that has had an impact on our school. The previous advice that domestic trips should go ahead has been changed and all unnecessary travel is being discouraged. We are therefore having to cancel the planned year 9 residential trip to Norfolk Lakes from 29th June to 3rd July 2020. This is disappointing, but the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff is our priority.
The additional advice that everyone in vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, should minimise social contact, and that people should self-isolate for fourteen days if anyone in their household has symptoms of the virus has had an impact on staffing levels. We have operated normally today, and will continue to do so for as long as possible, whilst also continuing our preparations for the possibility of a full or partial closure.
Thank you for working with us to ensure your daughter continues to able to learn well in these unprecedented circumstances. The vast majority of our students and staff are in school and carrying on as usual. For our students and staff who are unable to attend we understand the concerns you have and the steps you have taken to self-isolate. We will endeavour to keep you all informed of any further changes as and when they arise.
With very best wishes
Catherine May
