Our Drama department offers exceptional extracurricular opportunities for students to explore and develop their passion for performance. Each year, we proudly present a whole-school production, where students from all year groups audition for the cast and dedicate months to rehearsals before performing to a captivated audience. The standard of our performances is consistently high, with shows regularly selling out.

We invite local primary schools to attend our dress rehearsals, giving our students the opportunity to share their work with the wider community. A professional technician is employed to oversee the lighting and sound, ensuring a top-tier production. Our repertoire alternates between collaborative musical productions with the Music department and standalone plays, providing every student with the chance to shine on stage. These productions are invaluable in fostering students' confidence, honing their performance skills, and encouraging collaboration with peers from different year groups.

In addition to our main productions, we run a weekly Drama club where students come together to work on performances and engage in fun drama games. This club is a great space for students to nurture their creativity and teamwork.

Our department also organises regular trips—both compulsory and optional—to expose students to the vibrant theatre scene right on their doorstep. We are fortunate to regularly receive complimentary tickets from renowned venues such as the Young Vic Theatre, and we frequently visit The National Theatre and West End theatres. When tickets are not free, we subsidise costs to ensure every student can participate, regardless of financial circumstances.

Furthermore, we offer students the opportunity to prepare for the prestigious LAMDA acting exams, under the guidance of a dedicated LAMDA-certified teacher. These lessons, available through an audition process, are completely free of charge. We also cover the cost of exam entries. Our most recent results were outstanding, with a 100% pass rate and 80% of students achieving the highest possible grade.
