6th Form Film Club
World Philosophy Day
6TH Form Film Club celebrated World Philosophy Day with the Religious Studies Department. The screening was a great success with many students ranging from Year 11 to 13 attending and enjoying the snacks provided. We watched ‘The Matrix’ which raised many philosophical questions regarding the nature of reality, the self and the future. It offered the idea that life as we know it is actually a stimulation created by machines to subdue us whilst they use our body heat for electrical power. 'Throughout human history, we have been dependent on machines to survive. Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony.'
